about my service

  • Is my TruGreen service guaranteed?

Yes. Customers benefit from our Healthy Lawn Guarantee®, which means we’ll gladly visit your property as often as needed between scheduled visits to make necessary adjustments and ensure your satisfaction.

  • When can families and pets return to serviced areas?

After a service, TruGreen advises customers to allow the application to dry before families and pets resume enjoying their lawns. A lawn will normally be dry 1-2 hours after treatment, but low temperatures, high humidity, low wind and cloudy conditions will increase the amount of time needed for the treatment to dry.

  • How do I complete a survey on my TruGreen service?

To give feedback on your existing TruGreen service or your specialist, first log in to your account by clicking here. Then click "take survey" on your account summary screen.

  • What is the timeframe between applications?

Generally, applications are applied every 4-6 weeks depending on your plan.

  • Will TruGreen service continue automatically year after year?

In most locations, TruGreen service continues year after year unless a customer advises us to discontinue. Customers find that continuing the program from season to season and year to year is the best way to maintain the lawns appearance. It also allows us to care for your lawn at the best time for the best results.

  • Should I water my lawn before or after an application?

You should water your lawn after an application. If it doesn't rain within 24 hours after our visit, please water your lawn to help achieve optimal results from our lawn application.

  • How often should I mow my lawn?

The best guide for mowing frequency is the growth of your grass. When lawns are actively growing it may require mowing more than once weekly. Plan to cut less than one-third of the grass blade in one mowing. Keep in mind that certain grasses, such as bermudagrass, zoysiagrass and centipedegrass, require close mowing to stay healthy. Allowing these grasses to grow too high will increase thatch in your lawn. Click here to see a video for more on best mowing practices.

  • Are the products applied by TruGreen safe?

There is a rigorous selection process to choose the products we use. We make our selections based on a number of criteria, including health, safety and the environment. The health and safety of our associates and the communities we serve is top priority. All products used by TruGreen are registered for use by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In many cases, in fact, our product selection criteria exceeds that of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

  • Do I need to do anything to prepare for my first service?

Please make sure to allow access to your property by keeping gates unlocked and pets inside your home on scheduled service days.

There are 3 convenient ways to pay your bill. Click Here to log in or register for my account and pay your bill online. You can call us at 1-800-464-0171 and make a payment over the phone. Or mail a check to either location listed below:

  • Will I receive multiple applications during one visit if I purchased any additional services?

It’s important for us to apply the right products at the right time for best results. If you purchase a lawn program and any additional programs, like Tree & Shrub Care, TruShield sm Lawn Pest Control, or Mosquito Defense, these may be done on the same day. Your specialist could perform your lawn service, and then perform your mosquito service while on your property. If you are set up on our EasyPay or Pay As You Go, you will be billed for both services at the same time.

  • What if I’m unable to be home for my service visit?

We would love to see you and speak with you about your lawn if you are home, and we will always knock on your door to let you know when we arrive. If you can’t be home for your visit, we’ll leave a service summary at your front door and email you with details about the services we’ve performed. Your service summary is also available after every appointment at Reminder: please allow access to your property by keeping gates unlocked and pets inside.

  • When should I expect to see results?

If weeds are present on your lawn, you may notice visible results within a few weeks of your first visit. Depending on the condition of your lawn, it can take time to have a great lawn. As your specialist spends more time working on your lawn, your lawn’s appearance will continue to improve. Every lawn and its challenges are unique, and we will provide progress updates and special instructions for your lawn at each service visit.

  • What are some lawn watering tips?

Your lawn usually requires 1-2” of water per week, depending on factors like soil type, temperature, and humidity. We recommend long, infrequent watering (1-2 times per week). Your soil should be moist to a depth of 6-12” after a watering. For best results water early in the morning. At midday, more water evaporates than goes into the soil. Evening watering invites trouble because plants that stay wet overnight can be more prone to developing certain diseases that thrive in moist conditions. Click here to see a video for more on watering techniques.

  • Does TruGreen use dry granular or liquid materials when treating my lawn?

TruGreen uses both dry and liquid materials depending on the time of year and what is best for your lawn. Each time we service your lawn, we leave a service ticket listing the products we used during the visit.

  • How does TruGreen treat for mosquitoes, and do you spray my lawn?

TruGreen Mosquito Defense uses an innovative formula combined with a targeted application technique to significantly reduce the number of biting adult mosquitoes in your landscape. Mosquitoes seek out shelter in shrubs, mulch and woodpiles to avoid sun during the day. For the treatment to be effective, we target these areas to ensure we provide effective control.

  • How can I help prevent mosquitoes from breeding on my property?

Eliminate any standing water that might be present on your property. This will help ensure there are no potential areas for mosquitoes to breed.
