Let TruGreen tailor a lawn plan to fit your needs and your budget.

The aeration process is based on simple mechanics and yields big results. First, your TruGreen lawn specialist mechanically removes small plugs of turf, thatch and soil from your lawn. In a week or two, these plugs break down, feeding nutrients back to your lawn's root system. You may even begin to see new white roots growing into the aerated holes.

Thatch is a layer of living and dead organic matter that occurs between the green matter and the soil surface. Excessive thatch (over 1/2 inch thick) creates a favorable environment for lawn damaging insects and disease, an unfavorable growing environment for grass roots, and can interfere with some lawn care practices.

Because aeration opens the soil, more nutrients, water and air reach your turf's roots. And layers of excessive thatch break down more easily, which can lower the risk of a lawn damaging insect infestation and disease. Aeration may be used in combination with overseeding to fill in bare or thin spots in your lawn.
