Narrator: Want the best looking lawn on the block? A lot has to do with the way you mow it. Always mow the right height and don't scalp your lawn. When grass is cut too short, the growth comes to a stop while it recovers. So never mow more than one third of the grass blade.
Watch your grass, not your calendar. Make sure it's grown at least one third taller before mowing. Don't just cut it because it's Sunday.
Vary your mowing pattern and your grass will grow more upright.
Never cut your lawn when it's wet. When your grass is dry, you get a more even cut.
Always make sure your mower blades are sharp. The sharper your blades, the better looking your lawn.
And finally, your lawn will really benefit from all the nutrients and moisture that lawn clippings leave behind. So, don't bag your grass clippings.
