TruGreen and its associates strongly believe in community involvement and giving back to a TruPurpose. Our branches across the United States and Canada focus on giving back to the neighborhoods they serve whenever they can. During September’s National Cancer Awareness Month, TruGreen associates hosted a memorable give-back event benefitting the children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® in Memphis. 

The patients and families at Target House, St. Jude’s long-term, apartment-style housing facility, were invited for an afternoon of fun that included professional artists drawing caricature art of children’s favorite outside interests and activities. There were also life-sized games such as Jenga, Connect 4, and a variety of craft activities on site. Participants also enjoyed food and drinks throughout the event which were served by TruGreen employees. 

The art drawn helped highlight the beautiful smiles each of these heroes wear while fighting childhood cancer. Each caricature began with the child describing their favorite memories and captured their smiles, showcasing their favorite memories outside on their lawns.

TruGreen supports St. Jude and highlights the pioneering treatments and inspirational stories that happen at St. Jude every day. That continued support means St. Jude can keep its promise of families never receiving a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is doing everything they can to help their child live.

Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer. 

And that’s a cause that TruGreen and its associates truly believe in and want to support.
