We guarantee our science-based treatment to be effective in controlling mosquito populations within 24 hours and with significant reduction for as long as 30 days after your service. If you're not 100% satisfied with the results, we'll re-treat at no additional cost. That's our TruGreen Guarantee.

No. Because a well-maintained lawn leaves mosquitoes exposed to the sun and heat, a complete lawn treatment is unnecessary. Instead, we zone in on shrub beds and tall grassy areas. Those are a mosquito’s favorite spot!

Fogging is a method for large-scale control of mosquitoes. This blanket approach is not as effective in reducing mosquito populations in and surrounding your backyard and other outdoor areas. TruGreen Mosquito Defense specifically targets mosquitoes where they live on your property, providing added protection from their annoying (and potentially harmful) bites.

No service can offer 100% protection from every mosquito. However, you’ll find that the presence of mosquitoes will be significantly reduced once your yard is treated with our Mosquito Defense.

Remove areas of standing water in your yard — including kids’ toys, plant trays, garbage cans and gutters. Keep your grass trimmed and free of standing water to avoid damp spots that foster mosquito breeding. While these steps may help prevent mosquitoes, you can more effectively control the mosquito population on your property with our Mosquito Defense.

The cost depends on a few factors, including the size of your lot and the number of treatments. We’ll include a personalized quote for your treatment plan.

Each treatment lasts approximately one month.

When it comes to treating mosquitoes, consistency is key. So while one treatment will help control annoying pests, consistent treatments will help keep them away throughout the season.

Yes. Our Mosquito Defense service continues until you discontinue it. Customers find that continuing the program from season to season and year to year is the best way to control the mosquito population. The first treatment for mosquitoes will typically start once the temperature rises above 50 degrees. Many will find the best treatment time to be between March and November.

Yes. When you purchase Mosquito Defense, service continues year after year unless you advise us to discontinue. Customers find that continuing the program from season to season and year to year is the best way to control the mosquito population. The first treatment for mosquitoes will start based on air temperatures being conducive to mosquito activity, typically once the temperature rises above the 50-degree threshold. Due to this, the best application time is typically between March and November.

No. We maintain a buffer of 10 feet from any body of water on our customers’ properties. We call this buffer our ‘ring of responsibility’ in order to avoid our products from being applied too close to or in the water.
