Fertilization
Lawns need a steady supply of nutrients over time to be as healthy as possible. The slow-release fertilizer used by TruGreen helps to ensure that your lawn gets the nutrients it needs steadily, over a graduated period. And, of course, as part of the lawn care service offered in our year-round Healthy Lawn Plan, we continue to apply fertilizer as needed at key points in every season to stimulate and maintain growth.

Weed Control
Grass is often in competition with weeds like dandelions and crabgrass for nutrients, water and space. Not only do they look bad, but they can also take over and even kill large patches of your lawn. That’s why weed control is built into your customized year-round Healthy Lawn Plan. The Healthy Lawn Analysis we perform helps us recognize the optimal time to apply pre-emergent weed control to help keep weeds from showing up in the first place. Additionally, we follow up with applications throughout the year to eliminate weeds that do pop up and keep them from spreading.

Lawn-Feeding Insect Control
There are a number of lawn-feeding insects that can endanger the health of your lawn. Some, like chinch bugs, can literally eat away at your grass and others, like grubs, can damage the root system and kill lawns off in patches. Like we do with weed control, TruGreen uses your Healthy Lawn Analysis to help customize an insect control regimen. We calculate the appropriate time to perform preventative insect control applications to fight off lawn-feeding insects before they do any damage. And we follow up throughout the year with any additional applications needed to eliminate covered lawn pests that appear.
